Welcome to My Tack Room
Have you ever walked into someone else's tack room and wished you could just start pulling things off the wall and start trying them on your horse?
Well now you can!
As a a young kid I always aspired to be a trainer, and although barrel racing is my choice of poison, what I really thrive for in every horse is broke. I grew up with some of the best cowboys in my state and one thing that always caught my eye was bits. I would watch how every horse rode in every bit and how they would respond every time pressure was applied and in what situation. How the bit would sit an a horses mouth, how much the bit moved around when the reins were pulled, how the bit moved with the horse as the horse was performing, what mouth pieces seemed to be the most universal fit, I watched it all. As I got older, I would go to the large futurities here in the winter and I would watch hours and hours of the professionals do their time onlys and again, I watched every set up known to man, I watched how the horses engaged their bodies, what made them brace against you, what kept them freer, what seemed to scare them, what worked together and what didn't and so on, and so, I started building my arsenal of tack, training aids and bits. When I look at a bit the number 1 thing I look at if how they sit in a horses mouth with no pressure being applied, because if a horse can't pack it, then it's not even worth the time or money to. I love bits and I love how each bit gives you a different feel each time you put it on a horse and how differently a group of horses will ride using the same bit and that no one size fits all no matter what.
So with all of that being said, I got to thinking, if I love going through someone's 'training" tack room there has to be others out there too, so I've decided to open up my tack room to you. To allow you to mix and match and play with different set ups to find what best suites your horse without having to commit to buying it only to find out it doesn't work. I've done the hard part, now you can rent my tack to try before you buy!
